About Paul Logan, PhD, CRNP
One of the First ACNPs in the United States. Thirty Years in Cardiology. Still Practicing.
Paul Logan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s acute care nurse practitioner program in 1994 — among the first cohort of ACNPs in the United States, when acute care nurse practitioners were so new that most hospitals had never hired one.
He went directly into cardiology. For more than 30 years, he has practiced at WellSpan Cardiology, managing patients across the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease — heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, structural heart disease, and preventive cardiology. He sees patients every week. He applies the same ACC/AHA guidelines he teaches in this Academy to real clinical decisions every time he is in the office.
He also teaches. Paul serves as AG-ACNP Program Director at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where he prepares acute care nurse practitioners for specialty clinical practice. He knows which clinical distinctions NPs get wrong in cardiology because he trains and corrects them every semester. He knows what cardiology employers expect from new APPs because he has spent 30 years being one.
The APP Cardiology Academy is built from that combination: 30 years of cardiology practice, years of ACNP education, and a direct understanding of the gap between what graduate programs cover and what a cardiology job requires from day one.
Why This Matters for Learners
This is not a course built by a content company that hired clinicians to review slides. It is built by the clinician who practices what he teaches — and who teaches in a graduate program that sends new APPs into cardiology roles every year.
The clinical accuracy standards, the ACC alignment, the guideline precision — these are the standards Paul applies in patient care, not a marketing claim.

A Note on This Course
The cardiology knowledge you need on day one in a new cardiology role is learnable. It is also specific — not everything in a general cardiology textbook, not the same curriculum physicians use, not a repackaged CME module.
It is the ACC Core Curriculum, taught clinically, with guideline accuracy, by someone who has spent 30 years doing the job you are preparing for. That is what this Academy is.
